Professional Learning Plan

How can effective Professional Learning be implemented? There are numerous phases in the process. The outline below shows an overview of the phases, with a  duration of one school year. Understanding that an ongoing support system, mentors, collaboration, and buy-in from the learners are keys to success.

Implementation Outline

Eportfolio Project

Monika Wiggins EDLD- 5389

 

Objective:

Each learner will learn about, creates, and understand how to build an eportfolio to illustrate who they are, electronically, using school technology.

 

TIMELINE: (Tentative due to changing requirements/ schedules related to Covid Pandemic).

 

Phase 1- August 2021 -Introduce to Foreign Language Teachers & Admin

  • Talk with Technology Director

  • Schedule brief meeting with Asst. Principals

  • Seek approval from Principal and Dean of Instructions

  • Share plan with Foreign Language Team at PLC meeting

 

Phase 2- Mid Fall 2021 – Introduce to Learners

  • Administer learner interest/knowledge survey to all staff

  • Share my ePortfolio as introduction

  • Begin implementation of ePortfolio Plan using Google Classroom

  • Foreign Language Team begin creation of ePortfolios during PLC

  • Set up collaboration methods, times, & support plan

 

Phase 3- Winter 2021

  • Guide FLT LEARNERS TO CONTINUE ADDING TO PORTFOLIO

  • Integrate videos, reflections, and daily journals

  • Peer assess/review learner portfolios

 

Phase 4- January 2022

  • Walk-About- FLT Learners share ePortfolio (in-Progress) at PL meeting

  • Share survey results with all staff

  • Introduce ePortfolio Plan to KISD faculty and staff at PL meeting

  • FLT Learners continue adding to ePortfolio

  • Connect staff with mentors from FLT

  • Establish and share support plan with all learners

 

Phase 5- Spring 2022

  • Implement ePortfolio plan with interested/selected staff at weekly PLC meetings

  • Staff Learners begin creation of ePortfolios

  • Set up collaboration methods, times, & support plan

  • Guide Staff Learners to continue adding to the ePortfolio

 

Phase 6-May 2022

  • EOY Survey: Progress update check-in with all staff

  • Staff Learners peer assess/review ePortfolios

  • Wrap-up for year

Identifying the Learning Outcomes
What is the objective of the plan? By starting with a "big hairy audacious goal", we can identify activities and applications that will help the learners create their ePortfolio.
