Contribution to My Learning and the Learning Community

In contributing to my learning and the learning community, I took part in all events, briefings, and discussion posts in our online course community. I watched all of the videos and perused all of the course materials - mandatory books, linked videos/articles, and the majority of the additional resources - as well as conducting my own research to further my comprehension of applications of growth mindset. I made it a point to finish my posts and answer to those of my classmates. I also took part in class discussions with my classmates.

I consistently collaborated with my group members while also conversing with other classmates. Throughout the course, my team members and I spent time reviewing course expectations, reviewing projects, and giving feedback on each other's portfolios and assignments. I kept in touch with these members and revised my assignments before uploading them in Blackboard, based on the criticism I received. While we communicated primarily through text messages, I also spoke with a few of them on the phone. My team members are:

1. Elda Aguilar- Mancha

2. James Herwig

3. Erika Montroy

4. Maria Carrasco

5. Eddericka King

In EDLD 5303, Applying Education Technology, the course begins with the design of a Growth Mindset Plan to implement with our students, which is centred around the concept of understanding growth versus fixed mindsets. We also established a Learning Manifesto as a result of that implementation, and were able to share some of that information with others in our area or with comparable interests through the Learning Networks we joined. We worked on developing our own ePortfolios toward the end of the program, which will continue to grow and expand throughout the program.
