ED TECH PUBLICATION

While creating an innovative project I can truly say it is only a portion of the battle when it comes to really trying to implement change across an organization. It's a challenge but I Experience this first hand is something that has helped drive execution with my Innovation plan for my  organization. Many may not understand my passion a drive but with each new digital tool and task that I complete I am able to see the benefits to diversifying ways to share my work while also influencing others to do much of the same. The podcasting is new to me and it was so exciting to complete. From podcasting, to publication writing and peer-review, I find myself opening my eyes to a whole new experience in the educational arena.. The collaborative efforts that have been met with within this course continue to have lasting effects in my professional role, affording me with new and fresh ideas for innovation.

Podcasting provides an opportunity to share ideas, where we can bounce off each other  through the form of a digital discussion and invites the audience into the conversation! By utilizing the media tool of podcasting, my group members and I are given the opportunity to share much more about the work we are doing for our publications and our innovation plans as a whole. Check out our episode below.

Podcasting | Ep1 "The value of an ePortfolio"

Introductions and personalities fly as we make our debut into the podcasting world. With a team of 3 contributors Eddricka, James, Maria and I talk about ePortfolios and some of their many benefits. With each of us bringing a different perspective and area of expertise to the table the conversation stems around what things are a must have/do for getting started with ePortfolios.

Publication | The Writing Process

There's writing and then there's writing for publication purposes and let me tell you the two definitely have their differences! With publication writing, whether for a blog site or for a scholarly journal, each has its own set of requirements and expectations if you hope to be published. Some of the criteria are specific to word count, content relevance, specific research components, and the list goes on. Naturally, the process can seem daunting, but as I worked towards completing my own draft for possible publication, I found the experience to be rewarding. It is a learning curve for sure, but I am excited to step outside of my comfort zone and give publication a try.

Publication | Peer Review

Working in groups of any kind can be both challenging and rewarding as each person brings something different to the table. Within the Applied Digital Learning program at Lamar University, we were tasked with completing a peer review for work done by other classmates. The process gave me insight into what it truly means to give and receive feedback in conjunction with rubric based scoring. The rubric used is pictured to the right, and my full reflection over my experience can be found within my blog in the article titles, Peer Review Reflection.
