After watching several videos there was one that really stood out to me. "ALL WASHED UP"! Yes, the video was very interesting and it hit home in so many areas . The movie revealed how many people are so easy manipulated and influenced. I see that on a daily basis at my school believe it or not. (Grenny ,2009) The old saying is "It's hard to teach an old dog new tricks ". Well, it's difficult to track or influence students if they are so used to one thing that they've been doing for a long time. I wasn't surprised at all by the actions of the kids because I'm around it all the time. It was a real world moment . I laughed o, yes I did but it also made me think a lot on ways to prevent the behaviors . I have to "Change it Up" a bit. The kids were so use to licking their nose etc. Those kids could care less if that nastiness could hurt them yet alone a germ . Presentation is everything and we as Educators must be will to change the ways we present teachable moments. Teachable moment are vital at all times . Our kids can learn new and good behaviors .We as Educators must remain consistent . Getting the kids to wash their hands can be a social influence .Peer influence is another one . Children learn from their peers more than anything . Alduts can have a great impact on the Children especially parents. Parents are the #1 influence in their children's lives. Parents don't always believe this – in a Parents Empowered survey, parents placed themselves last in the line-up of influences on on their children – after friends, teachers and media.
