Choice, Ownership, Voice, and Authenticity (COVA) are features that schools aim at incorporating into their system. I believe the learner owns the ePortfolio since it engages him/her and also provides security on the data they invent and collect. Initially, many students would lose their data and information to unqualified publishers for their selfish gains. With the help of an E-portfolio, students are provided with enough ownership and accountability of their research and work. Therefore, I am compelled to think that an E-portfolio brings forth security to a student's data. On the other hand, an ePortfolio allows students to own their work; this equips them with enough knowledge on how web technology works. Such an act allows learners to control and coordinate their work without fear of failure or self-belief.

By owning an ePortfolio, an assignment becomes more than just an assignment. Through intensive control, for example, I have been able to manipulate data into something creative. This act expands one's mental mindset making them creative and innovative enough. Therefore, through promoting COVA in a student's ePortfolio, instructors can assist the student in reaching their full potential and discovering new information. Over the past few weeks since I started interacting with my ePortfolio, it has helped me own my information, making me feel more appreciated and involved. This has helped me develop massively in terms of learning. It provides an overall understanding of what I am doing and when I should do it. Such an act makes a student much integrated with the learning environment and influences self-determination and belief.
