Exploring Progressive Education


Progressive Education The educational system is so much more diverse than one can ever imagine. Educational systems are the ones that interfere with learning in the form of “ education”. But this pandemic has changed our lives as well as our styles of learning. If you simply google how schools have caused restlessness among students then you will be shocked. But this is something that is not in control. If we look into the past then you will look so important that how traditional schooling systems are so more significant I am not saying the schools today are not good but they are somehow OUTDATED! The educational systems were built in the 1900s. The main purpose of them was to induce more industrial age among people. For preparing people to live a “creative life in an industrial world.” Now schools are just like FACTORY. Because they just literally want to produce more factory workers. The people who work in educational systems are far braver and smarter as they are so enriched with resilience. If you look deeper and view more closely that our educational system is still teaching that talking to each other is a form of cheating. There are so many constructs in the educational system around “knowledge acquisition around knowledge regurgitation” from treating each individual and the complexity of relationships we fail. I feel in some way these demands are not met. I deduced this idea that people are so much deeply rooted in the older concepts and a sudden change in the trends thanks to that nasty virus they are forced to accept as they don’t have any other choice. People are forcefully into `` like this stuff”. Liking something because others also like it and liking something as it suits you and fits your mental approaches are two whole different ideas!

We as humans are oppressed by our genes to constantly evolve and bring changes in our lifestyle. The same goes with the things in which we invest either from money to time. But the platform that is supposed to bring evolution from A to Z in our life is almost 100 years old. Unlike our phones, it hasn't been updated.

The educational model that we follow is based on;

  • Linearity

  • Conformity

  • Batching people

The trends we follow are pathetic. If I replace it with obsolete, then it will sound more accurate. Now we are living in the information age. From standardization to customization. This is how we evolved.

Peter Diamandis narrates:

“There will be as many changes between 2016-2022 due to exponential technology growth as between 1900-2000.”

When we move from educational systems to students, then we know like every human every student is different. Students show uniqueness and diversity. They have different personalities and learning capabilities also differ from one another. In recent decades though, the forms and extent of “modern diversity” have increased. Now some teachers serve students from diverse languages. But these adjustments need to be made in “regular” classrooms of various grades. This diversity of modern class is not limited to language or disabilities. If worked carefully then many reforms can be easily achieved!
