The Power Of Words
When reading through the question prompts, IIt made me think of when I was a child. I use to be pretty sassy and I had a smart mouth . We would always say the phrase, “sticks and stones can break my bones, but words can never hurt me.” Listen, words sometimes hurt more than sticks and stones The “Power of Words” video didn’t use words negatively, but the same power could be inferred when negative words are used. Sometimes we can take words the wrong way . In the video I perceived the message many different ways, I listened to the the tone, etc. In the video, a simple change of phrase made people react differently, even though the message portrayed was the same. we respond differently at the tones of different messages. If I yell words at my child, I'm sure he will respond in a way that may cause him to shut down but if I communicate those same words in a more calm manner , my child just may communicate back to me.
